I’ve been working on a Spring roundup for awhile (I am so over winter and way too excited for Spring).  So to celebrate Nordstrom Double points and the (almost) arrival of Spring I’ve rounded up my favorite dresses for the season.  I focused on looks that could go to the office – bonus if they could do double duty on a date or the weekend.  I’m not really a ruffles and frill kind of girl so most of my picks are classic.  A few are trendy.  In the Under $150 category, I sorted through more than 4000 dresses.  I also found some Under $100 options.  #4000isALOT

Why Dresses?

I love dresses.   You will frequently find me in a dress because they are so easy.  I mean seriously, one item of clothing and you are done.  Walk out the door done.  If necessary, you can throw on a suit jacket or blazer to make them slightly more formal.  Dresses also travel beautifully.  No ironing required upon arrival.

Enjoy the dress selections in this post and then come back Friday for a few more Spring Picks for Nordstrom Double Points.

Spring Dress Selection Criteria

For my selection criteria they had to be dresses I either already own or would buy.  I tried to include a mix of different styles and looks including some patterns and some solids.  I made sure all the sizes were available and that at least a few of them included petite sizing.  My last criteria was they had to be under $150.  (Nordstrom has currently put some of them on sale making them an even better bargain!)  I had a very hard time whittling the selection.  There are so many gorgeous spring dresses making their arrival – now if only spring would do the same!

My Top Spring Dress Picks (Solids)

Under $150

Navy Halter | Red Dress | Navy Sheath | Camel Jumpsuit | Navy Sheath | Pink Sheath | Black Sheath | Blue Dress

These are all classic silhouettes and colors that make for pieces you can wear for years.

I love a halter neckline … to make it office worthy simply add a jacket.  The same is true for the red dress.  For both, I would pick this Veronica Beard jacket.

The camel jumpsuit is unexpected and adorable.  I would pair it with this jacket (currently $40) and this belt!

 Under $100

Utility Dress | Navy Jumpsuit | Rust Tie Dress | Olive Dress | Watermelon Sheath | Navy Dress | Black Dress
Some on sale … a few trendier silhouettes but all still very office appropriate.  The last black one is one you could own for years!!  I have similar and mine was not under $100.  Here is mine.
Utility dresses are trending and this black is perfect for the office or weekend brunch.  Same with jumpsuits.  To make it work ready, add this Veronica Beard jacket or to make it brunch ready, add this statement necklace.  There is also a dress with similar sleeves.
Pair this gorgeous blazer with the rust dress for a monochromatic office ready look.I love unique necklines like the one on the watermelon sheath (this dress also comes in blue); see mine here.  Just add a statement earring and done!

My Top Spring Dress Picks (Patterns)

Under $150

Gingham Dress | Stripe Dress | Scraf Print Dress | Ruffle Shoulder Stripe | Pink Wrap Dress | Stripe Tiered Dress | Floral Dress | Stripe Jumpsuit

I clearly have a thing for stripes and ties.  A few of these require a jacket – I’m thinking bold like a gorgeous red or vivid pink.

The pink wrap dress would look great with a Navy Boyfriend jacket or if you want sleeves try this DVF style wrap dress from Boden for $140.

Under $100

Dot Dress | Stripe Dress | Polka Dot Dress | Square Print Dress | Navy Dress | Olive Stripe | Black Pinafore

A few of these picks get a little more casual but adding a jacket will get them to the office.  See tons more jacket picks tomorrow.

The black pinafore is so practical and fun because you can pair it with so many different options underneath and create totally different looks.  I would start with either this fun floral blouse or this colorful blouse.

Spring Dresses to Splurge On

Not bargain hunting and just want a beautiful dress?  Here are my top six picks (I was trying to get to five but just couldn’t eliminate one more)!

My 9 to 5 Shoes Spring Dress Roundup Spring Dresses to Splurge On

DVF Faux Wrap | BOSS Square Print | Ted Florals (on sale for $188) | Boden Stripes ($180) | Tory Burch Tweed | Navy Club Monaco Belted

I had a really hard time crunching this down to six … there were almost too many lovely DVF dresses to choose just one but I got there.  I have an old soft spot for Ted Baker and a new soft spot for Reiss and a closet full of BOSS.  This Boden pick looks very similar to one I bought last year.  There was lots of lovely Veronica Beard dresses but I didn’t see any splurge-worthy office ones (tons of good date night ones though).  Rebecca Taylor is also always good for the office!  #TooMuchBeauty
