I’ve been rounding up the best of all week (see also Work Wear StaplesShoes, and Dresses) and If there is anything I love more than shoes and dresses, it might be Jackets. I have a closet full of them. They make mixing other pieces in your closet so much easier. They are also an opportunity to show your personality and have some fun!!  So many good choices in this year’s sale … how do you choose?  Well here are all my top picks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Best of Coats, Jackets and Blazers!!

Top Blazer Picks

J. Crew Dover Blazer – I have two J. Crew Dover Blazers (Navy and Tan) and this bubblegum pink one from Topshop. Combine those two and you get the beauty in this year’s sale. You will surprise yourself the number of times you reach for this. Still uncertain? This color just makes people happy. It’s a sure fire way to start a Monday smiling!!  Jeans are Frame and the shoes are Lewit (included in the sale).

Topshop Blazer – A beautiful double breasted option that is only $57. Say what? Yes. This is such a more expensive looking piece.  I initially didn’t take this home but I am picking it up today because I saw the error of my ways.  The T-shirt is included in the sale.  The jeans are Rag & Bone and the shoes are Rothy’s (neither included in the sale – although their are a ton of of R & B options included in the sale).

Plaid and Houndstooth Blazers are both trending for fall.

Trove Boyfriend Blazer – This Trouve Boyfriend Blazer is very similar to one I purchased last year. Toss this on to elevate your classic black and white pairing or wear with denim for casual Friday.

Frame Blazer – Or buy this FRAME blazer as a splurge worthy version!! Let your budget decide but they are both good!!

1901 Blazer – A black and white beauty with some winning details.  They didn’t have this in the store and grey doesn’t look the greatest on me so I did not order this one.  Bottom line …. I cannot vouch for the fit or quality but it sure is cute.

Vince Camuto Jacket and Pants – This was a surprise gem.  The dressing room pictures are and 8 which was too big but the pics from home are the 6.  I loved this dressed up or down!!  I am wearing a 4 in the pants but will need to have them taken in slightly (I think a two would be too tight in the legs).  This is very stretchy and comfortable and probably perfect for travel.  There is also a matching skirt.  The red top underneath is from Halogen ($20 and comes in five colors).  The blue top is from BOSS.  The jeans are the Paige Hoxton and the black peep toes are Vince Camuto.  And my bedroom is a mess!!

Halogen Tweed Jacket – This one had potential (I also ordered the matching skirt) but the Fringe on the sleeves was too much for me. The colors are gorgeous and many folks have been loving it.  I have something very similar and it’s perfect paired with a bright or black pencil Skirt.  I am actually partial to this 1901 one which is on sale but not Anniversary sale.  The matching skirt for the Halogen one is worth the purchase though … more on that tomorrow!!

Veronica Beard Dickie Jacket – Veronica Beard is VERY abundant in my closet. This one is absolutely already home (as evidence by my messy bedroom and dusty mirror)!!  The jeans are STS Blue in Grey and the Boots are Blondo.

Chelsea28 Corduroy Blazer – This is so much better than it’s $66 price tag!  This is one I think will be sold out quickly.  It also comes in a Navy but I love this rich tan for Fall.  The oxfords I am wearing are PIKOLINOS and they are so comfortable, comes in four colors.  The pants are my beloved Oshimas.

Vince Camuto Houndstooth – Like a cardigan but with structure. I can absolutely get behind this one!

Smythe Blazer – Wow this picture is totally blurry!!  While this jacket is technically not a part of the Anniversary Sale it is on sale.  And it is pretty fabulous.  Jeans are older Veronica Beard, shirt is from the Ann Taylor Capsule Wardrobe and the shoes are the Vince flats everyone is loving.

These are in the category of not a blazer but not warm enough to be considered a coat. You need one of these in your closet for transitional days. I have one similar to the Madewell anorak below.

Madewell Anorak – Think you can’t wear this jacket and still look professional? Think again … see an example here or here

Veronica Beard Jacket – This one is on the top of so many peoples lists but initial reviews are not looking good. I like my leopard to be a little more subtle but #youdoyou

BB Dakota Gabrielle – This one also comes in a lovely beige.  With an angled zip and cutaway front hem and a drapey color. I have a similar green one that I wear all the time to transition seasons.

Mural Belted Trench – This is one of those hidden gems in the sale because it looks like nothing hanging on the rack but it is oh, so fun!!

Just because you are melting in July does not mean you won’t be freezing in just a few short months. This is the best time to prep for the cold days coming!! If you missed my overcoat rant you can read it at the end of the Wardrobe Staples post … bottom line though – you need a dressier coat if you are going to dress dressier. #RantOver

Ted Baker Coat – I really don’t need a new overcoat but if I did this green one would top the list!! #Beautiful  How gorgeous is this color? Also comes in a pale blue if green isn’t your thing.  #GoGreen

Still going strong with the Moto Jacket love.  This BLANKNYC moto comes in three colors (blush, green and black) and the hoodie is removable. I purchased the sold out mushroom and the system is still searching … But Kate from Haute Navy got the green. I can definitely say #GOGREEN.  How adorable is she?  She is wearing a Halogen shirt (perfect for petites).

Treasure and Bond Convertible – I haven’t seen this one in person but I love the idea and it is getting rave reviews.  I lovely investment jacket that is bargain priced!

BlancNYC Suede – um, how cute does Kate look in this (Visit Her Blog). This one came to her via my house and it was a hard one to let go … good thing she is not my size. She is wearing a Halogen shirt (perfect for petites).

Lewitt Plaid – A girly take on the Seville trend. I love the larger pattern and the hints of color. I have yet to see this one in person but I want too!

Two-Tone Faux Fur Vest with Parka, Main, color, Khaki

Derek Lam – If this was half the price it would be in my cart but since I have a perfectly good parka I’m going to leave this beauty at the store.  If you don’t have one though then this is absolutely the coat for you!!  This is my ‘I live in the land of cold’ coat choice!!

The public sale starts Friday but I’m not quite done with the round ups!!

I will have the separates posted tomorrow and then Saturday you will get everything else I purchased (that’s where you will find denim, purses, undergarments and other fun treats)!!

Happy Shopping!!
