Since we are entering the Ides of March and St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend I thought it would be fun to explore green shoes for this week’s edition of Tuesday Shoesday. We are apparently moving through the colors … if you missed the Purple Shoesday Edit you should check that one out too. If there is a color you want picks and styling for let me know!! My obsession with green shoes really started when I received an email promoting the new Stuart Weitzman botanic jacquard print (they are exclusive to Neiman Marcus). It was love at first sight. By last count it comes in 10 different styles (I added four to my picks) and they are all lovely. #SimplyLovely
We will get back to the Stuart Weitzman beauties in a minute. Let’s start with simply going green. The more I thought about the notion of green shoes, the more I liked the idea. It’s a color that’s flattering to almost any skin tone (in the right hue) and the styling options are endless. #NoReally I think people think they need to be matchy-matchy and this is one color were it works better to not match. Taylor Swift isn’t wearing green … other than her shoes and it works! #Perfect

Go Green
To dip your toe into the green shoe trend, start with a simple green pump. Below are two outfit pairings for two different green shoes. The first is classic polka dots and a fun print paired with a Kelly green pump. The second gets a little more daring with a pink suit. #PerfectforSpring
Sam Edelman Hazel | Boden Dress (or if skirts are more your thing paired with a classic button down with a twist) | Printed Tote
Halogen Jacket | Halogen Pants | Floral Shell | Neutral Tote | Green Kitten Heel
Styling a Green Print
Now back to the lovely printed pump. A print really isn’t any harder to style than the plain green shoe. This example from the Neiman Marcus Spring Lookbook should say it all. The shoe really can be worn with almost anything. #StripesandFlowers
Still not convinced? Trying wearing the print with neutrals. I put together two outfits that I’m looking forward to wearing with this shoe! The first one is classic black and white so you can let the shoe shine. Add a taupe jacket for a hint of color and texture (and warmth).
Tote | Topshop Jacket (or this very similar one that I have and love) | Black Shell | Stuart Weitzman Pump | Vince Camuto Crops
The second look is still neutral, but brings in a bit more contrast with browns and creams or rust and blush. I also included a similar print shoe that is less than $100
Tote | Halogen Jacket | Rebecca Taylor Shell (have this in a print and LOVE it but if you are feeling brave pair it with this print blouse instead – this is totally what I would wear it with) | Pencil Skirt | Charles David Pump
