Purple shoes are popping up everywhere for Spring so I figured it was high time for a Purple Shoesday review! I’ve had my eye on these pricey purple pumps since last fall but now there are so many more choices that I won’t need to break the bank (I do still really love those though). From pale lilac to deep violet every hue is there. Today I’m showing you picks in all shades and how to style them for the office? What shade will you choose?
How to Style Purple Shoes
Purple shoes are made to make a statement but they should also enhance your outfit. Because they could be considered a little “non-traditional” I would opt for traditional silhouettes (like sheath dresses) paired with pointy toe heels or block pumps. Let’s start with a basic look and get a little crazier as we go. #GoCrazy
1. Simple Sheath
Treating the shoe like the true statement it is, pair it with a classic black sheath dress and unique statement (read investment) jewelry by one of my favorite designers. #SomeDayWhenIWinTheLottery
David Yurman Bracelet | David Yurman Ring | Nine West Pumps | Maggy London Sheath Dress (have this dress in blue – love it)
2. Take it Up a Notch
Ready to move up a level. Take a dress with personality and pair with a bright heel and statement necklace ala Sarah Jessica Parker.

Statement Necklace from Bauble Bar | Purple Pump | Michael Kors Polka Dot Dress
This post has inspired me to look at polka dots more. Look for a post soon on more ways to style the classic dots but in the meantime shop even more polka dot dresses here.
2019 Update: Polka Dots are even bigger this Spring!! You can find dot dresses everywhere and every price point!!
3. Keep it in the Color Family
Feeling even more daring. Use purple pumps to accent grey and lavender. Match your glasses to your outfit and you are winning for sure! I love how the colors are a similar palette with just a subtle color difference.
Glasses | Minkoff Satchel (on sale) | Pumps | Ted Baker Dress
4. Broaden the Color Family
I’m still deciding which pair of shoes I like the best but once I do … this is how I will style them. Add a secondary, complimentary color but keep them close on the color wheel. Feeling bold? Go with Purple and Red paired with bold accessories. #BeBold
Maui Jim Sunglasses | Agate Ring (Looks way more expensive than its $28 price tag) | Purple Pumps | Red Sheath Dress
Want to be a little more subtle? Opt for a Deep Purple paired with the Red and use accessories to tie everything together.
Red Sheath Dress | Tassel Necklace (40% off) | Burberry Scarf (Investment Piece) | Minkoff Satchel in Cherry (on sale) | Stuart Weitzman Pumps (50% off)
Purple Shoesday Picks
Here are some of my favorite picks. Many of these were used in the looks above to show how to style them.
If money were not object then I would get this Gucci beauty and pair them with the red sheath dress and agate ring. Done! #DarnBudget
A touch of lavender, a touch of pink. I love the indecisiveness. This means this Steve Madden will pair beautifully with lots of pieces.
Bright and Bold and absolutely walk-able. These Marc Fisher pumps may be the most practical statement of the bunch.
Because of the black trim and tassel these Nine West pumps are a no-brainier paired with black and make stepping into the trend easier. Also available in black and bronze. #PickPurplePlease
The deepest of the bunch. For those not quite ready for true purple. Also a very practical heel. Stuart Weitzman always gets is right (50% off) #YourWelcome
For those that don’t want deep purple but aren’t ready for bright purple … I’m prepared for such uncertainty and offer you a lovely little sling back.
This patent purple pump is the boldest shoe in the bunch. It also comes in a lower heeled slingback version. #GoBigorGoHome
Perfect. This Cole Haan Purple Pump is simply perfect. Except for the fact it has limited sizes. It also comes in a purple-burgundy tone with more size options. #Sorry
More Purple Shoes
Still haven’t gotten enough? You are a glutton for choice aren’t you? Here you go … thirty more … although there may be a few duplicates in there.
