It’s time (technically way past time) for the weekly Winter Capsule Wardrobe round up. If you have no idea what I am talking about then start with this post. Missed a few of the weekly roundups? You can find Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3 there. All caught up? Read on! This week you are actually getting a double dose of outfits because I’m doing both Week 4 and Week 5 (of course Week 5 was only a half week.) #StillCounts
Week 4 Winter Capsule Wardrobe
I’m starting to the get the hang of this whole capsule wardrobe thing. I’m also kinda (kinda) starting to get tired of these pieces. #Kinda
Day 1
Today was a reprieve. It would have been a suit day but this was the day the government shutdown for the day. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you should watch more news. #JustKidding #Kinda Since I could be more casual, I opted for a day of all black (Black turtleneck sweater (mine is from Kohls) and BetaBrand pants). Color came from a fun scarf (mine was purchased in Molesworth, U.K. about tens years ago and I have no idea from what store). #IDidSay10Years But here is brighter, but similar one from ASOS.
Day 2
Because the all black worked yesterday, I thought I would try it again. This time I wore the leather midi skirt (similar from J.Crew) with a Black turtleneck and added a red corset belt for fun (similar). It was a day of meetings so the suit jacket was included for most of the day. I linked a ton of similar belts below because it is such a cool look.
Day 3
On Wednesday’s I wear suits. (And Monday’s and Tuesday’s and … you get the idea). More suit. I feel like my black Hugo Boss Suit and I have become way too close over the course of the last month. I’m ready for a different HUGO. #ClosetFullofThem Today’s pairing was the red turtleneck sweater. Mine is from the Something Navy collection at Nordstrom and now sold out … but this one or this one or this one are all very similar.
Day 4
On Thursday, because I still needed to be formal but I was tired of Hugo, I opted for the LOFT blazer (they just added this red option to their inventory) paired with a striped silk blouse (similar from everlane) and the pencil skirt from my suit. Tights and booties completed the look.
Day 5
I was rather silent on the matter, but on Friday we left Northern Virginia for warmer weather. The boys had a school break and we opted to take them to the happiest place on earth. I like to travel in a Blazer (similar) – that’s my thing – even if I’m traveling to play. While I maintained capsule compliance up until this point, for the Disney Weekend I wore only the Paige Denim from the Capsule and my Striped turtleneck didn’t last long once we landed in the warmer weather. Needless to say I don’t have any weekend capsule looks. #SorryNotSorry

Week 5 Winter Capsule Wardrobe
The last week of January was short but still counts as part of the Challenge. Here was the big finish!
Day 1
Another travel day for me so I opted for silk blouse, Hugo Boss Suit jacket and jeans (similar High Rise Denim from Madewell). You can also see I opted to sleep rather than shower as my hair is looking a little chaotic.
Day 2
This was one of my favorite looks from the challenge. I loved the bright colors and the color blocking effect. It was also a great way to break up the winter blahs! The shell ultimately replaced the dress in the challenge as I wore this in a similar manner as I would a sheath dress … pair with turtlenecks, silk blouses or leave by itself in warmer weather. My skirt is sold out but I’ve linked tons of blue skirts below!
Day 3
I thought it might be fun to finish the challenge with the same top I started with. I wore the Windowpane Sweater again but this time I paired with the Betabrand Pants.
You’ve now seen all the outfits from the Challenge. This Monday, I will round up the full month of looks in one post, show you the final Capsule Collection and offer some of my thoughts on the whole challenge. #BottomLineSuccess
