Every day this week I am featuring a new office appropriate Spring Shoe Trend.  I’ve already talked about the Cage Look and COLOR and today I’m talking BLOCK Sandals.  If you only buy one new shoe for spring it should be one with a block heel.  You can combine the block heel with one of the other trends (cage, color, metallic or blues) for an opportunity to trend double-dip. #yesthatsathing

I have focused on the two strap block heels because (1) you can find them everywhere right now and (2) they go with everything.  I had a similar pair years (and I mean years ago #everythingoldisnewagain) that I wore with everything.  Those had a dainty heel though.  The block heel makes them WAY more wearable – no more sinking into grass or getting caught in urban grates.  #heelwoes

If this is your first shoe roundup then you should know I have strict criteria for my picks … they must be items I either already own or would buy.  Because I know not everyone wears sky high heels, I  try to include a mix of heel height options.  This is a little more challenging when you are talking about a block heel but I included several lower heel options. The winners also need to be highly versatile.  I want shoes that could be worn with suits and other office attire as well as to weddings and brunches.  #myshoesmultitask

BLOCK Sandals

Hands down the best purchase you could make would be a nude version of this sandal (you can find them anywhere and at any price point).  These shoes can be worn with a suit, dresses, crop pants, shorts … you get the idea.  And because they are nude they mostly disappear leaving your outfit center stage.

Black is also a good option but will be noticed.  As I was walking into get coffee this morning, a woman was leaving wearing a sheath dress with a black pair of these and she looked stunning.  The wedge on my shoe blurs the block heel line but makes them much more wearable when lots of walking or standing is involved.

Feeling Bold?  Then go for a statement shoe in a bright color or metallic hue.  My yellow shoe below also comes in Blue, Floral Orange, Silver, Pink and 4 other options.  (And now that warm weather has arrived you can ditch the dark tights!)

My Top BLOCK Sandal Picks

I focused on the two strap versions of the block heel but you will find that all the spring trends can come with this style of heel.  I included picks with the Cage Look shoes and you will see more later this week with my picks for the other trends.
