WhoWhatWear Winter Challenge
What a better way to start a roundup than with a challenge. This is me on Day 3 of the WhoWhatWear Winter Challenge.
Day 3 Goal: Wear a polished dress as a top with cropped pants. Sound fun? If your winter wardrobe appears to be in a slump, then click over to WhoWhatWear and check out their Winter Wardrobe Challenge. Each day for 30 days they challenge you with a new outfit idea. The goal is to stretch you out of your comfort zone. I am having tons of fun trying some new looks and thinking outside of the box inside of my closet. Check out Instagram hashtag #WWWwinter30 to see how others style too. Bonus – its not to late to join the challenge!
Winter Thyme Book Review
Over the holidays, while on a travel hiatus, I was able to enjoy lots of family time. We spent time in the kitchen creating heavenly morsels as well as playing and relaxing. If you are looking for comfort food to bring you warmth this winter or easy crafts for the little ones – this book provided excellent ideas for both. Read my full review (which includes Monkey Bread and homemade Hand Warmers) on Bittersweet Walnut Grove.
it CC Cream (again)
My last roundup I mentioned I was going to try it CC Cream. I tried it (I did get carded since I started using it … so I consider that an upgrade). It is a full coverage cream so I don’t wear it everyday but … WOW! And a little goes a LONG way! Along with the rest of the internet – it is a product I can highly recommend.
My Latest Read
On my last trip I indulged the nerd in me by reading Rise of the Rocket Girls: The Women Who Propelled Us, from Missiles to the Moon to Mars. It was an quick read – easily accomplished on a long haul flight. Need your nerd fix or want to feel a little female empowerment? Give it a read. The novel is about the young, female ‘human computers’ at the Jet Propulsion Lab who performed all the math necessary to launch rockets outside Earth’s atmosphere, satellites into orbit and probes to other planets. Set during a time when America was in the midst of the space race and societal norms typically kept women from the workforce. These were not your Grandma’s gender roles – and they did all this while also looking fabulous!
Traveling Tote
With the return to work there has been a return to travel. As a ‘pick-me-up’ I purchased a new travel bag. It was the color blocking that caught my eye but the combination of THREE neutrals that persuaded me to buy. It is even more gorgeous in person and the perfect size to hold all my travel necessities. It is also not so big I can’t carry it like a purse. Perfect! It won’t entirely replace the TUMI but it will make it into regular travel rotation.
