This is the fourth post in a 10 part series on how to wear the Pantone Seasonal Colors (Kale). For posts on the other colors visit the Pantone Seasonal Color Page.

Kale

I’ve no doubt we could all use a little more Kale in our lives. I for one love to put it in smoothies and eat salads made with it but I haven’t though too much about the color as a wardrobe choice.  I have similar colors in my closet … olive, army green … they aren’t exactly the same though.  Kale is brighter.  Not as crazy bright as Greenery but it has a more ‘notice me’ tone.

“Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect to nature, similar to the more vivacious Greenery. And, just as we see in nature, this lush and fertile natural green shade provides the perfect complementary background to the more vibrant tones in the palette.” (Pantone Color Institute, 2017)

When looking for inspirational pieces I found tops galore in this color.  Depending on the exact tone, pair with neutral pants in black or hazelnut for a complete look.
