All That Glitters: Holiday Shoes

For Shoesday this week I am talking all about sparkly, pretty party shoes. It’s all about Holiday shoes and the outfits (and places to wear them). I am a huge fan of Holiday shoes and I have way too many pairs – but I typically wear all of them by seasons end. I have broken them down into a few different categories and paired one shoe from each category with a look. Each one is a close replica of something I will be wearing this month for all my many Holiday events. #ShineBright

Give Me All The Sparkle

I do a Holiday shoes post every year but this year’s post was inspired by the first pair you see below. Those J.Crew beauties are in route to my house because I’ve been eyeing the similar Gucci ones for more than two years now. The color is Rainbow Party – which is what I am going to have when they arrive. #SoGood

These shoes are meant to go all out! I am planning on wearing my new J.Crew beauties with all red so the shoes take center stage. The first look is very close to how I will be wearing them but sizes were limited. The second look is equally gorgeous!!

Smooth Velvet

I have a very old pair of velvety suede heels from Loft. I only wear them for the Holidays. They tie around the ankle and are fabulous for making a quiet statement. They are party shoes that aren’t loud. I also have a pair of J.Crew velvet flats with rhinestone embellishments for the times I’m going to walk further than two blocks. Velvet and Holidays were simply made for each other. Add a little bling or a bow and I love it even more.

With velvet shoes I kind of like to go all in on Holiday. Last year I paired mine with a Tartan Skirt and I will admit to wearing this outfit to more than one occasion. #RealLife You can find similar skirts to mine at Talbots (mine was from Zara) but I opted for something a little more unique. You can go pair it with a more neutral black or go all in with color. You know my vote. #GoAllIn

Mad for Plaid

I’m a sucker for a good tartan print and no one does it better than J.Crew when it comes to shoes. I have tartan Mary Janes and tartan kitten heels and the cutest pair of tartan flats I received last year as a gift. All three will be on major repeat for the next month. The J.Crew ones were going fast but Nordstrom carries many of the same shoes and is currently price matching their 50% off sale.

When the shoes are the statement I like to keep the look a little more neutral. When I saw these jeans they looked like the perfect match for the Jimmy Choo slingbacks or mules. Such a great look without being over the top. If you need a little something more just add a velvet jacket. #SubtleOnlySometimes

Embellish Me

These shoes all have a little something extra that make them holiday perfect. My go to pair is an old pair of Stuart Weitzman heels with pearls. #SWOON I know the Boden satin ones don’t have an embellishment but they were too stunning to ignore and I would simply add my shoe clips to give them that extra shine. These are the ones that I own but there are hundreds to choose from. With clips you really have no excuse not to have a party shoe! #NoExcuse

Sometimes you want to go in all in with comfort. For Christmas this year I am planning on wearing velvet joggers (it’s like I will be in pajamas all day – only really fancy pajamas). I not so plain body suit makes you look even fancier. #BeFancy
