Whew.

How I felt after doing so. You can thank me later!!

25.

The number I’m talking about today.

This is my dresses round-up. When available I included yours truly wearing the dress.  (I will remind you these are not quality photos. It’s the same pour lighting in either a dressing room or my bedroom).  Okay, disclaimers in place let’s dive in!

Best Splurge Dresses

These are in my splurge category but both are beyond gorgeous.  If you are looking for that stand out piece – these are the clear winners.  I already talked about both of these in the Dressing Room Diaries but they are worth mentioning again!

Akris Punto Sheath – This sheath is worth every penny you will spend on it.  So gorgeous.  I am wearing a 4 but ordered a 6.  This falls into the splurge category for me but was simply to unique to ignore.  I also discovered it has a topper which I also ordered.  I will try and get better pictures when the 6 (and topper) arrive because these don’t do it justice!!  #GORGEOUS

Updated:  The six fits much better but may still require some alterations … and the topper is gorgeous and will make this a year round dress!!

Proenza Schouler Dress – This dress is Wow.  Simply Wow.  The mix of red, navy, black and lavender is just too fun!! The material is thicker and very comfortable.  It is also very forgiving.  I am wearing a XS.  This is another splurge and since I already did that (and this dress is similar to the DVF dress I purchased last year, it stayed in the store).  #SadFace

Best Sheath Dresses (Sleeveless)

Sheath dresses are work staples that you will wear all year round.  Add a jacket, turtleneck or cardigan and tights for cooler weather.  DONE.

Vince Camuto Scuba Sheath – The ever popular Vince Camuto scuba got a slight makeover and gained some friends and competition this year. The sizing is TTS (same as years past). There are eight VC dresses with slight variations – you are sure to find one to suit you.  So many options.  I’ve highlighted most in this post.

Vince Camuto Scuba Sheath with a Bow – I’m still on the fence on this one because I’m not sure how the bow and a jacket will pair, but it is such a unique twist on the classic sheath it had to be included.  Three color choices.  #SlimmingBow

Vince Camuto Pinstripe – I am wearing an 8 in this picture (I’m a 4) which is why I am holding the back.  The pictures don’t do this one justice.  Lovely and a great material.  I ordered the 4.  #Winner #Under$100

Updated:  The Four fits perfectly!!  Yess!!!!

Vince Camuto Knit Sheath – I’ve put this one in my cart twice now but haven’t pulled the trigger. The only hesitation for me is it is very similar to several I already own.

Ted Baker Sheath – I love Ted.  I’m not in love with the peplum (but you might be).  The material is so thick and very high end.  This one will not disappoint.

Tahari Star Sheath – How adorable is the neckline on this sheath?  Such a statement! This is a gorgeous crepe material that looks way more high end.  I have seen this one on several people and the neckline is really what makes this dress!!

Best Sheath Dresses (Cap or With Sleeves)

Tahari Sheath – The with sleeves version of the crepe one above.  I love this deep red color for Fall!  Beautiful. TTS.

Vince Camuto Scuba Sheath – Another version of the famous sheath but this one has subtle cap sleeves. I love the floral and color block mix!!!

Eliza J Jersey Sheath – Sometimes you want a little more give and comfort in a dress (I’m looking at you travel days).  Two color choices.  Size up in this one!

Eliza J Crepe Sheath – This one also comes in black but I was tired of looking at dark classic sheaths!! I’m loving this pale blue color!!

Eliza J Ponte Sheath – The details on this one are amazing (and can’t be seen in this pic).  This is a desk to dinner sheath with a cool cutout in the back.  Only comes in this lovely navy color.

Tahari Pinstripe – This one is boderline sheath but I figured it could sneak into this category.  I love all the details.  This one is on a UPS truck somewhere. #HurryUp

Best Wrap Dresses (or Faux)

Plaid midi dresses ala ‘I love Lucy’ are trending huge this Fall. I tried on at least four. The fit is very forgiving and flattering for all body types.  At last count there was 72 different options for a plaid dress in the sale …. #NotOverwhelmingAtAll

Eliza J Faux Wrap Midi – This is the one I chose out of all the options. #StuckOnATruck

Update:  This one is fabulous!  And I didn’t notice the pockets previously.  I love the colors and the looser fit.  I found this TTS.

A.L.C. Wrap Dress – Hello Date Night Dress! By the time I discovered this one, my size was out of stock.  #NowStalkingNordstrom

Bardot Wrap Dress – I purchased a similar dress from this brand during the Half-yearly sale.  The neckline is not for the conservative but the dress is lovely!!

Halogen Wrap – After getting the skirt in a similar print and material and loving it, I ordered this dress.  It looks so DVF but costs so much less!!  #FingersCrossed

Update:  It’s a good thing these are not high quality photos because that dress is barely buttoned.  I ordered my normal size 4 but I am going to need to try a 6.  I love the color and print though.

Eliza J Faux Wrap – Don’t let the picture fool you.  This is actually a dress and not a tunic but I was getting tired of taking clothes on and off at this point.  I think it looks kind of cute this way though.  This dress required either boobs or a cami.  I don’t like putting camis under my dresses and I don’t have boobs (34A) so it stayed but I loved the mixed florals (very similar to the Lewit ones).

Everything Else Dresses

Eliza J Fit and Flare Dress – The colors are lovely – which you cannot see from the poor lighting but it has pinks and greys. The shape felt too short although it clearly is not and their was too much white for my liking but with the right body type and coloring it is adorable!!

Eliza J Flare  – This ones comes in two color choices but the blush is so lovely and uncommon.

Chelsea28 Embroidered Dress – Chelsea28 had several dresses with trending features (ruched, jumpsuit, embroidered) in the sale.  This was too tight and short in my normal size.  I’m not sure if sizing up would help …

Chelsea 28 Ruffle Tweed – Remember last year’s ruffle tweed from Chelsea28? Well this year it comes in green.  It’s too ruffled for me but the color is beautiful!

Chelsea28 Ruched Dress – Speaking of Green … yeah I know that is black.  But it also comes in a lovely green.  Really lovely.  Did I mention under $60? This one should arrive any day!

Update:  This dress fit great but I wasn’t a fan of the shoulder puff.  I did love the neckline and the ruching though.  So gorgeous!! Those are the Halogen Sadie Shoes.

Rebecca Taylor Dress – I wasn’t as big a fan of the dress buttoned up but with the mock neck unbuttoned it was adorable.  I am wearing an eight and I kind of liked the loose look but I also ordered a 6 (which would be my normal size) to compare.  Update:  I am keeping the 8.  The six fit but I liked the oversize look and feel of the 8.

Maggy London Polka Dot Dress – I really liked the idea of this dress but I couldn’t make it work (very sad face).  The picture is in a size 6 which fit great – other than my waist.  A 4 may have solved the problem. Not shown is a very lovely slit in the front to remove some of the matronly feel.

Maggy London Dot Dress – another polka dot dress that looks fun and versatile!!

Joie Leopard Dress – Another dress I didn’t discover until my size was sold out.  Another date night beauty.  #StalkingThisToo

Julia Jordan – This is the one I cannot wait to arrive.  #CanNotWait I’m hoping it lives up to expectations!  Three color choices.  All good.

Joie Dress – This is another dress requiring boobs and (or a cami). Still don’t have them (boobs that is).  The dress was gorgeous if you do though!!

More Dresses to Consider

Still need more?  You really are a glutton for punishment.

Lafayette 148 was another heavily represented brand in dresses. All black and classic in a variety of silhouettes. All good. These will be more of an investment than the Vince Camuto ones but are highly recommended for buttoned up office environments.

BOSS BOSS Baby.  I’ve already talked in length about the value of a good sheath dress that has a coordinating jacket…. see that whole post here.

That’s it.  I’m officially done.

Follow me on Facebook or Instagram to see updates as the shipped dresses arrive.  Come back tomorrow for the best of blazers and jackets!!
