Today’s #Shoesday is all about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Best of Shoes!!
When I was in the store last week the first section I visited (and fourth … and last) was the SHOES!! #HaHa They are my thing. I went their first to pick up three very specific shoes (Lewit Slingbacks, Halogen Flats and Sole Society Loafers) and then I was distracted by beautiful Stuart Weitzman heels and I may have found a few other items (you can see them all in this post) while my stylist was tracking those down. After shoes, I went to try on dresses and blazers and so many other fun pieces. I then returned to shoes to do a little more scouring (I might have missed something after all). My store separates the shoes into three levels. Before I left I visited the designer shoes just to see!! (Insider Tip: If you visit the designer shoes last – you just might have already spent all your budget thereby sparing yourself the expense). #NiceIdea #InTheory
Sunday, I then returned to a different Nordstrom just to make sure I really hadn’t missed anything. #SeriousBusiness
Here are my top picks from everything I tried. I didn’t dive into boots and booties … they are coming.
Heels Under $100
Here are my top picks for heels you will reach for again and again. In order from least expensive to greatest.
Leith Block Heel – Three color choices and the only option under $50 for a work appropriate pump.
1.State Block Half D’Orsay – Five color choices and a 3″ heel.
Charles David Pump – I have always found this brand very comfortable. I would actually rank it above the Sam Edelman Hazel. Four color choices. I ordered the Orange. There are a few more color choices including a lovely purple here. Also comes in a kitten heel height.
Louise et Cie Block Heel – This one is in the sale year after year. Love the three color choices this year!! You can see me wearing last year’s version in last year’s dressing room diaries.
Vince Camuto Slingback – Four color choices including this gorgeous red. A good alternative to the more expensive Lewit ones.
Sam Edeleman Ankle Wrap with Studs -This one is also available without the ankle strap or as a flat. It comes in four color choices. #PickPink
More Heels
Cole Haan Bow Toe – Waterproof, a less than 2″ heel and three neutral color choices. This is the very definition of both practical and staple!!
Marc Fisher LTD – It has been awhile since we have seen a new MarcFisher style. It was worth the wait. These come in seven color choices! I ordered the blue (and the yellow). The blue are an 8.5 I are a touch tight. The yellow are a 9 and are a touch loose. I didn’t try a heel insert to see if that fixed the problem but likely would!!
Lewit Slingbacks – These come in three color choices and while I loved the lavender, I opted for classic black. I sized up a half size in these and I think that makes the fit perfect. #PickPurple
Paul Green Pump – These are very similar to my VINCE D’orsay and I love them. Two other fun color choices as well.
AGL Slingbacks – Four neutral color choices including this gorgeous patent burgundy.
Stuart Weitzman Pumps – The most expensive in the bunch are of course one of the ones I purchased … but they are so lovely. SO LOVELY. Three color choices. (The purse is the this one).
Honorable Mentions: While I loved last year’s Eileen Fisher Wedges – I didn’t love them this year with the double ankle strap. They were still very comfortable and a good lower heel option. Cole Haan also had a lovely wedge that was very comfortable but I’m not sure how I feel about the double strap. I actually like this one better which is on sale for the same price but not Anniversary sale (even better) and also comes in a Black Patent. You can see both the Eileen Fisher and Cole Haan pairs on in this post.
Peep Toe Heels
I’ve been looking to replace my Halogen peep-toes that are years old (see above). I wear them tons and they are starting to show that fact! I found three good candidates and the Vince Camuto pair was the pair I ordered.
1.State Ankle Strap with Studs – How can you not love the color and the studs? Two other color choices too. #PickRed
Updated: After I didn’t love the Vince Camuto ones then I opted to try these. #OnATruck
Vince Camuto Peeptoe – These were the ones I ordered. They are super comfortable and every bit as unique as the pair I was trying to replace.
Update: I found them TTS but they did have an interesting gap at the ankle that makes them look to big. I don’t think they get to stay ….
Botkier Peeptoe – Three color choices and very similar to the Vince Camuto one I opted to try.
Flats Under $100
Here are the flats that caught my eye (in order of least expensive to most)! I ordered several pairs of these so there will be some pictures coming soon!!
Halogen Slingback – These are the same flats in the Leopard Love print (they come in 3 solid colors as well). These were ordered!!
Sam Edelman Studded Ballet – Gorgeous!! More colors and patterns here.
Louise et Cie Bow Mule – Also available in leopard but I love this blush/red combination even more!! So fun!
Sam Edelman Stud Loafer – I am partial to the simplicity in the Sole Society loafer but this is a good alternative.
Cole Haan Bow Flats – These are so gorgeous. I am really loving the rose snake ones which I have now put in my cart at least three times but haven’t pushed go yet!! This was the best Navy option I found!!
More Flats
Eileen Fisher Ankle Strap – Three color choices but I love the deep red for Fall.
Lewit Ruffle Flat – I had these on my feet but did not purchase them and I am now regretting that decision. These may be coming home after all. So adorable!!
Tory Loafer – The second best Navy option I found but also came in four other color choices.
VINCE Flat – Such a modern yet classic flat. This is one of those pairs you will have forever and years from now someone will ask you were you got them!! These were ordered in two colors – I am working on deciding if they are TTS or maybe size down?!! I ended up keeping the black and after wearing them all day, I find them TTS.
AGL Smoking Slipper – I was between sizes on this one but it is super cute! You can see it in this post.
Leopard Love
Still don’t have a pair of leopard shoes? Now you have no excuses!! Here are EIGHT choices ranging in price from $59 – $109 and covering all silhouettes!! Mules, ballet flats, loafers, sling backs, D’Orsay, block heel and a studded or classic pump!!!
In order from least to most expensive:
1.State D’Orsay – Such a classic style but in a fun leopard print. This one includes a very walkable block heel.
Halogen Sadie Sling Back – I loved this shoe in the floral print but if you need a good leopard and you prefer flats then this one is for you!! Sole Society also offered a sling back option.
Louise et Cie Block Heel – This shoe was in last year’s sale but not in a fun leopard print! I find it TTS. This is the closest offering to the Vince Camuto one I own!
Louise et Cie Mules – If you like the slip-on shoes then combine them with leopard and a bow and you are #winning Halogen also had a mule version.
Franco Sarto Loafer – This was the show I wanted in the sale last year, I finally found these Free People ones as my alternative (but mine were not under $100)
Sam Edelman Flat – Sam Edelman always does leopard right and this shoe doesn’t disappoint! Adding some scallops and studs to make it even more interesting
Sam Edelman Pump – The heeled version of the above! (But a very practical heel height!)
Marc Fisher LTD Pump – The classic pump from a classic brand. You cannot go wrong with this one!!
Not pictured: These Cole Haan Bow flats which are probably my favorite!! Such a great juxtaposition!!
Work Wear Staples
I covered the work wear staples earlier yesterday but just as a reminder …
There is nothing more classic than a ballet flat or pump (depending on if you are in the flats or heels camp). Whichever camp, Tory Burch and Ted Baker have you covered. These are the shoes you could (read WILL) literally wear every day (I know because I’m buying new Teds – after wearing them nonstop for the last five years!!)
Tory Burch Ballet – Classic Tory Burch Ballet Flat
Tory Burch Block Heel – Classic Tory Burch Block Heel (you will wear this for years)! Started the sale in four ckassic colors.
Ted Baker Ballet – I have these in a completely impractical Orange and love them!! The black, however, is timeless.
Ted Baker Classic Pump – These are my go to shoes for anything. The metal tip and heel help guarantee they last for years! Mine are just now starting to show wear after FIVE years!! If you like the look of the ballet but want a classic pump then check out the Heeled Bow Pump if you want to be not so classic this also comes in a fun Blue Print!! (Update: The heel is no longer metal but they do still have a metal protector on the heel bed). Those metal tips and heel protectors are one of the reasons they last for years (and are so unique)!!!!
Under $100
A majority of the shoes in this post are under $100 but here are all of them in one place for your easy shopping pleasure! #YourWelcome
Tomorrow … dresses!!! Yes!!!!
