To say I am excited would be a slight understatement. We’re exactly ONE MONTH away (not counting early access) from the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’m already stalking both the Nordstrom site and my mailbox waiting for the full catalog release rather than these little teasers. It’s all under the guise of helping you score the best work wear deals that you will wear ALL season long (but let’s be real – its a sale I LOVE to shop). This is my I’ve lost count year shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I deem myself an expert – not just in the Anniversary Sale really but all things Nordstrom. #BragMuch
Tips to get the most from the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Today I’m sharing my best tips to help you prepare you for getting the most out of the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Because it is so rare to see such huge discounts on items PRE-season, this is one sale you want to prepared for! The first step … mark your calendar (I’ve already taken two days off work – I’m that serious)!
Here are the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dates you need to know:
July 12th – Early access begins (for Nordstrom card holders)
July 19th – LAST day of early access
July 20th – Public access begins
August 5th – Sale ends
Now that you have the dates marked … let’s talk about how to get the best deals. The best way to ensure you get the good stuff is to be prepare to shop the sale RIGHT when it opens for early access (yes, I set my alarm for the middle of the night and get up to shop)!
In order to shop early access you will need a Nordstrom Card. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens EARLY to Nordstrom Card holders (8 days before it opens to the public)! So my biggest recommendation is to get a Nordstrom Card. And this year, if you apply and are approved, Nordstrom will give you a $40 Nordstrom Note toward your first purchase! (This is DOUBLE what they offered last year!)
Are you totally out of luck if you don’t have/want a card?
NO WAY!! In general, items available during the presale are restocked when the sale is opened to the public. Everything in the catalog is guaranteed to be restocked but not everything else is. Lesson – if you’re DYING to have that Chloe purse or HUGO BOSS suit at an incredible deal and they were not featured in the catalog, your best bet is to grab them during early access!! Anything not featured in the catalog is not guaranteed to be there once the sale opens to the public.
A few insider tips … if you see something you love that is not available in your size, grab a different size to exchange if yours does come back in stock after the sale.
If you have a store near you, use the pickup in store option to reserve the piece without spending any money. #ZeroCommittment
Become a Rewards Member!
If the Nordstrom credit card isn’t really your thing you can still be a part of the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Its’s completely free to join and super easy to sign up, and you’ll earn a $20 Nordstrom Note for every 2,000 points you accrue. If you are going to spend the money anyway, you may as well earn some of it back! Last year, due to computer glitches, everyone earned 10X points on the first day of the sale!! #BonusDollars
