I feel like I’ve been doing this trip on repeat the last few months. Late night flight to Rochester, meetings, more meetings and then an afternoon flight home the following day. My last trip was all internal meetings so I opted for more casual dress. I was also feeling a little edgy. Fall has been slow to come to Virginia and I’m so over my summer clothes. #OVER
With a late night flight, all day meetings and a departure the next day my opportunites to enjoy anything local were fairly limited. I did squeak a run in but more interesting was a return to the restaurant 2 Vine. I had only had martinis there previously. Their menu is small but interesting. I enjoyed steamed mussels and carmelized brussel sprouts and both were scrumptious. I was surrounded by coworkers who all ordered salmon they claimed was divine and the stuffed porkchop that cruised past our table looked like an entree to not miss. With a minimal corkage fee (read FREE on Monday and Tuesday), I recommend you find a good bottle of wine and head that way for a not-to-miss dinner. #BYOW
My Rochester Looks
Similar Tunic | Similar Belt | Oshima Pants (Similar Pants) | Shoes (VERY old – see tons of options in this post)
For the first day (my late night travel), I wore my beloved Oshima pants with a striped tunic shirt. I opted not to tuck so I paired it with a leopard print belt and added my leopard shoes to complete the look. The only photo I have is this stellar travel shot (photo credit to one of my coworkers humoring me).
Silk Blouse (Now 70% off!!) | Faux Leather Skirt | Ted Baker Pumps
Day 2 was an actual work day but without customers. I wore my pleated faux leather skirt and continued the leopard theme with a printed silk blouse. My classic Ted Baker heels finished the look (there was enough other interesting pieces – I kept the shoes simple).
White Blouse (one without pockets) | Oshima Pants (Similar Pants)| Red Booties from Zara (alternate here) | Earrings
For the last day, another travel day, I returned to my beloved Oshima’s paired with a white silk blouse. For interest and and something unexpected I added red booties. Any interesting shoe would work for a similar effect. The key – have fun!
Recreating my Looks
A few of my pieces are no longer available but I was able to recreate all three looks with current options. I also included a few alternate options if you want a little less edge. #OptEdgy
