You could also call this Polka Dot with Stella and Dot … or Black and White. Whatever your preference … the collaboration continues with a very work appropriate post.  If you missed Tuesday’s brief introduction to Erinn and the fabulous Date Night she styled with all the bling check it out here.  #YouMissedAGoodOne   No seriously, take a minute to check this one out.  #IllWait

So you may be asking …  Why Stella & Dot?  Why Erinn?  Because both are awesome … Okay, seriously, to give you more insight into the company and the stylist…

Stella & Dot’s mission is to give every woman the means to achieve success and balance through a career they love.  They are also about diversity and empowerment. #LoveThis  Their collection is fabulous because of the versatility, quality, and price point – half the line is under $50! #LoveThisMore

Similar to My 9 to 5 Shoes, Erinn uses Stella & Dot as a side-hustle (I say any excuse for fashion, she says any excuse for bling).  #KindredSpirits  Apparently a full-time public service career doesn’t feed her love for all things sparkly #IcanSORelate  She is also saving her extra income to travel with her daughter once she’s old enough. #IWantToBeHerDaughter  See more from Erinn here.

Okay, now that you know the whys and whos … let’s get on to the good stuff.

Casual Friday with Nordstrom and Stella and Dot

Today’s outfit was created for a more casual work environment or perhaps casual Friday for more formal offices.  I did try my Black HUGO jacket with this shirt and it works – the ruffles peak out the sleeves in a cute and completely appropriate manner.  If you need to formalize this look with either a Black or White Jacket – you can!

I was drawn to all the black and white options available in this years Anniversary Sale.  It is such a classic color combination and a natural for creating a show-stopping look.  The shirt that I originally wanted was this silk beauty from DVF – but I just couldn’t make the shirt work for me (you need a short torso and high pants or skirt).  I discovered this blouse as an alternative and it worked with so many pieces that it was an easy winner.  Rather than all black and white I opted to include a pop of color with the pants.  You could create a similar  effect by wearing black pants and adding brightly colored shoes.  This shirt also looked great with the burgundy version of these same pants – they just didn’t have quite the same WOW factor.  Any color will work for the POP – but the classic black and white color combinations are typically the primary colors.  #RedBlueYellow #GoRED

When I sent the look to Erinn her take was also classic.  She styled this with simple pieces that let the outfit shine … except for the clutch.  We both agreed the dots screamed to be matched with the stripes.  It was just too perfect!!   For work, toss the clutch in your tote and you are good to go.  (And ready to transition immediately to happy hour!) #IsItFiveOClockYet

The Look

Blouse | Pants | Shoes

The Stella and Dot Accessories

Pave Arabesque Chandelier Earrings in Silver | Pave Arabesque Pendant| Helai Wrap Bracelet | Maylee Ring (see close up above) | City Slim Clutch | (see the full Fall Collection here)

Polka Dot Shirts (and similar)

The shirt I am wearing and the sleeveless inverse of the shirt I am wearing. Both styles are available in both color options.

If you aren’t feeling the dots, I love this black trimmed silk piece of loveliness.  I tried this one on in the store but it was rejected because the trim over the pockets looked awkward with a suit jacket.  No jacket required?  Then this is a great pick!!

If you want the dots bigger (also available in the inverse) then go with this top.

To make the look transition easily to a night try this shirt which is all lace on the back. Wear it to work with a jacket covering the back, remove at 5:00 and VaVoom. I just ordered this one so look for updated picks on Instagram and  Facebook.

Don’t want a geometric pattern? Try this floral blouse in black and white which creates a slight bohemian vibe.

Want even more frills? This blouse adds ruffles to the dots for a girly take on the structured blouse.

Or add a a tie at the neck with this DVF silk blouse. (Full disclosure it is not a part of the Anniversary Sale but it is gorgeous).

Show off all your curves with a gingham wrap (also not a part of the sale but is very cute and reasonably priced).

Red Pants

There were a few other options for Cropped Red Pants but for their price point the Halogen ones I am wearing are hard to beat!  I really tried to find a pair of non-cropped pants (in red) and they currently don’t exist.  #embracethetrend

Halogen® Kick Flare Knit Ankle Pants (Regular & Petite)
These Halogen Kick Flare Pants were a sale surprise.  Comfortable.  Stretchy without becoming saggy.  Available in 5 colors and only $49.90.  I ordered three different colors and I love them all.  These pants also works with flats and you can see examples of the burgundy pants paired with flats in this post here.

Classic Pumps

Ted Baker Kaawa

The pair I am wearing is not currently a part of the Anniversary sale but they are on sale at Zappos!  If you have been watching for these – now is the time!!   The perfect classic pump.  You’ve seen my Ted Baker heels a zillion times because they are my go to heels!  There are tons of great options included in the Nordstrom sale, however.
Cole Haan is one of my favorite brands for work.  I snatch them up any time I find a good deal on them. Two other colors available.
Chales David is another reliable brand for work wear staples.  This classic pump is less than $65.
I love the twisted straps on this Corso Como pump.  Available in three other colors too.
Sam Edelman never disappoints.  I love the little ankle strap on this pump for an added detail.  Available in several colors including a cool leopard (you know I love a good leopard shoe)!
I’ve highlighted this Vince Camuto pump several times but typically in the grey or blush.  The black is equally unique.  The fit is almost TTS  (I did find it loose enough that I needed to add an insert) but going down a half size was too much.
I highlighted this Louise et Cie pump in my Dressing Room Diaries.  It’s a beauty with a rounded toe and block heel.  Very comfortable and fit TTS.
Another surprise from the sale.  Kudos to Eileen Fisher for making a D’Orsay heel that I can’t stop wearing!  This one it is so comfortable.  I purchased this in grey and you can see the pictures here.
Okay,  I think eight is a good number.  You know I could go on with the shoes.  So many lovely shoes.
Be sure to check back tomorrow when the Stella and Dot collaboration with Erinn continues with a sheath dress you won’t want to take off and a necklace to die for.  #NoReally  If you can’t wait, you can see the full Stella & Dot collection here.
