I just had the fortunate opportunity to spend four lovely days in Miami.  The sunshine and warmth was so welcome after the slow start to spring currently occurring in Virginia.  I was there for work though, so I needed warm weather, work appropriate attire.  Of course, I took my favorite item … dresses.  They not only pack easily but they are also easy to transition and accessorize for day to night.  I opted for corals and oranges to embrace the warmth of the south.   Pair the dress with a heel, grab a sweater or jacket for cooler office spaces and you are done.  Below were two of my looks from South Beach.

My Warm Weather Dress Style

I paired this dress with black heels because of the black leather detail but absent that lovely feature I would have opted for nude heels.  Add a statement necklace and your done!  The more casual dress I opted for navy sandals as a great color contrast.

South Beach Miami

If you have never been to South Beach Miami you should add this place to your must visit.  The beaches were endless, the city parks gorgeous and the dining was divine.  For restaurants check out Estiatorio Milos by Costas Spiliadis (high end Greek), CVI.CHE 105 (the appetizer trio was enough food for dinner and AMAZING) or Lilikoi Organic Living (greek inspired – their juices and quinoa waffles were a perfect post run indulgence).  If you want more local flavor, try Puerto Sagua or I did a walking food tour of Little Havana booked through Miami Culinary Tours that was fabulous and filling!  Also, don’t forget to indulge in a few mojitos while you are there!

Warm Weather Dresses

Below are my top picks for warm weather dresses that could be worn for both work and play.  Most of them have some killer detail that makes the dress … a tie sleeve, ruffles, or waist defining pleats.
