For the Love of Rain ... Boots

I have a confession to make … I have been wishing for rain. To all my friends in the Northern Virginia area, I should apologize in case my obsession has impacted them. Since I normally do not like rain, I should explain. A few months ago I purchased these Sam Edelman Tinsley rain boots and I have been wearing them every opportunity I can. I mean who wouldn’t love a pair of Chelsea styled Black Patent rain boots?

Today, I got my wish. Pouring rain all day! I booted up and prepared to walk down to the neighbors to return a borrowed watch. I may or may not have jumped in a few puddles with little man along the way! While today’s style was more casual than my typical 9 – 5, these boots can pull that off too. I wore them to our “fancy” (what my five year old calls anything requiring a button down shirt) NYC Thanksgiving dinner with cropped velvet pants. I wore them to work last week with a suited skirt and received compliments rather than strange looks. I even had a coworker pull up his pant legs to show me his rain boots (no where near as cool as mine though).

Not only have I been wearing them every chance I get, but I have been wearing them everywhere. The boots went to NYC when we took the boys for our Thanksgiving get-away. They were comfortable while hiking 5 miles through the city sight-seeing and museum hopping. They were comfortable standing on a street corner for 2 hours during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To stress test their comfort, little man did try and get me to run to the neighbors in them this morning. I opted not to put them to that test, but I am certain they could have held their own – they are THAT comfortable. The style of these boots make them way more practical and comfortable than the formerly trendy, tall Hunter style boots everyone still owns … and less than HALF the price.

I have the black patent ones but the space blue ones are currently on sale … so tempting. I mean first of all, the name, SPACE blue – seriously. But the color is also gorgeous. For the more adventurous, they come in leopard print or if you want more subdued, they come in matte colors … so many choices!
